The winners of the Games Park concepts competition will be announced on June 9

The presentation will be held as part of the finals of the competition organized by the Ural State University of Architecture and Art in partnership with the organizers of the Games.

For several months sixty-six students that have applied for the competition have worked on their projects under the guidance of the university's professors. They were faced with the task of optimally planning the placement of the functional and thematic zones of the Park under the condition of their seamless integration into the existing landscape of the Historical Square. In their projects, students had to justify and describe such Park zones as the stage area, children’s playground, inclusivity area, sports ground, food court, thematic expositions, photo zones, and others.

The Games Park will be open between the 2 and 20 of August and will be the main focus of engaging citizens and guests with the cultural program of the Games. Park's activities will include concerts, entertainment events, interactive shows, master classes, festivals, and exhibitions. The detailed program will be announced in 2022.

A professional jury reviewed students' projects on June 2, 2021. The competition will conclude on June 9, 2021, at the conference hall of the Ural Design Center, where a grand award ceremony for the winners will be held.

Competition's results will lay the foundation for the zoning of the future Games Park and its ideological and thematic concept.

Winners and awardees of the competition will receive diplomas and tickets to the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the 2023 FISU World University Games.
