Dmitry Chernyshenko and Evgeny Kuyvashev discussed the preparations for the Ekaterinburg 2023 FISU World University Games

The work meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev was centered around preparing the region for the World University Games.

Construction of the new sporting venues of the Games was the main topic of the discussion. Nikolay Karpol Volleyball Academy that opened this year, as well as the Games Village, the Center of Rhythmic and Aesthetic Gymnastics, judo and sambo arenas that are still under construction, were mentioned.

They also touched upon the issue of work carried out on medical and media support of the Games, organizing food and transport for guests and participants, as well as ensuring security.

The entire range of works is carried out following the approved decisions and considering the suggestions given at the meetings of federal and regional organizing committees. 31 sporting venues, including 9 brand new ones, will be involved in holding the Games. Per the FISU requirements, 22 existing sporting venues need to be brought up to standards, - said Evgeny Kuyvashev.

As part of the work meeting, specific steps to create an information and communication framework for the Games were also discussed.
